Formal Response to the Ofqual GCSE D&T Consultation

As we have noted in recent posts, there are currently two consultations open that relate to GCSE D&T. David and Torben have developed responses to both of these and this post provides links to our response to the Ofqual consultation, which concerns the assessment of the revised GCSE in Design & Technology for first teaching in 2016.

Our response, available as a Word document or as a PDF, is extracted from the full Ofqual response form. The question numbers are as in the original.

If you wish to use the contents as part of your own response to the consultation then please do so. Alternatively feel free to use our notes as a starting point for your own comments.

The important thing is that Ofqual get a lot of responses!

You can respond in any of three ways described below. Note the closing date of Wednesday, 19th November 2014. [Note that the Ofqual website has said Monday 19th November up until today! We have alerted Ofqual and they have confirmed that Wednesday, 19th November is correct and will update their website.]

How to respond (extracted from http://comment.ofqual.gov.uk/developing-new-qualifications-for-2016-part-2/respond/respond/)

If you have an interest in GCSE, A level and AS qualifications we hope you will respond to this consultation. You do not have to respond to all questions; you might prefer to answer those related to a specific subject only.

Please respond to this consultation in one of three ways:

The closing date for responses to the consultation is Monday, 19th November 2014.

[Note that the Ofqual website has said Monday 19th November up until today! We have alerted Ofqual and they have confirmed that Wednesday, 19th November is correct and will update their website.]
